Sightseeing in Rimini when you are not on the green!
Oxygen Golf Hotel is a hotel for golfers, but not only: if your passion is not the green... but the blue of the sea or the red of the sunsets over the hills, you will find that there is no better place to spend your holidays!
There are so many things to see in and around Rimini, and so many things to do. There is no lack of opportunities to enjoy your holiday the way you like: from the monuments, shops and clubs of Rimini and Riccione to the attractions of the hinterland with its historic villages and culture.
If you are travelling with your family, then the gateway to fantasy and fun is open wide, with amusement parks such as Fiabilandia, Aquafan, Italia in Miniatura and many more, less than half an hour's drive from the Oxygen Golf Hotel.
Rimini and Riccione
We are very close to both, in the heart of the Riviera Romagnola. These two localities have made history in tourism and still today, they host guests with the same warmth and enthusiasm of the past. There are not only sea, beach and sun for these two towns: shopping, aperitifs, concerts, markets... you cannot get bored, even when trying!
Rimini reveals its ancient heart within its historic centre: from Roman excavations and monuments to churches and palaces of the Renaissance, there is certainly a lot to see for lovers of art and culture. Add a little shopping in the streets and above all an aperitif in one of the bars in the Antica Pescheria. Head out to the sea after sunset: music, parties, trendy clubs are awaiting you: check out Rockisland, Coconuts, Bounty and many others. Riccione is instead known as the Green Pearl of the Adriatic: Viale Ceccarini and Piazzale Roma are the focal points of major events such as concerts, shows and parades. Moreover, for a truly sophisticated shopping experience, or to try a delicious cocktail at sunset, you can get lost among the refined boutiques and shops. Again, upon reaching the sea you will find in the Marano area the trendiest beach clubs on the Adriatic Coast.
Hinterland of the Romagna
Among the Conca Valley and the Marecchia Valley, which extend across the Romagna, it is easy to find ancient villages and towns poised to amaze you with precious and unexpected treasures, bound to the history, art, culture, food and wine of a place that has always been welcoming and generous. It is possible to organize excursions into the hinterland to explore castles, caves, vineyards and enjoy a slower life full of surprises: request information directly at the reception.
San Leo enjoys the panoramic view from high above, with its splendid Romanesque parish church and particularly its fortress where Count of Cagliostro was once imprisoned. Instead, Gradara is where the tragic love affair between Paolo and Francesca took place, sung about by Dante in his Divine Comedy, and where you can get lost in the alleys of the medieval village.
The Republic of San Marino, the oldest republic in the world, with its Three Stone Towers and the majestic Government Palace in Piazza della Libertà, is truly unique. Experience the fascination of the Middle Ages in the Cava dei Balestrieri (Crossbowmen's Quarry) where crossbow tournaments and performances by flag wavers take place during the medieval days.
A real gem that we would like to suggest is certainly Santarcangelo. Here you should not only try the local gastronomic specialities in one of its small restaurants but also venture inside ancient caves, experience internationally renowned theatre festivals or traditional fairs such as the one for San Martino, or get lost in Tonino Guerra's poetry in its alleys.
In Verucchio, on the other hand, you will find the Malatesta Fortress, belonging to the lords of Rimini, which dominates the town and the village, where you can enjoy a truly stunning panorama, but also the sounds of the artists of its Verucchio Music Festival.
Amusement parks
Who would not want to be a child again, at least for a few days? The amusement parks on the Riviera recreate that magic for young and old, and for everyone who really wants to have endless fun! Talk to us so you can skip the queue and enter the parks at convenient prices!
Fiabilandia is a huge village dedicated to games and fantasy: take a ride on the Apple Caterpillar, visit Merlin's Castle and venture into Peter Pan's Hut, before watching the colourful and lively shows in the park. If you want to explore Italy from the Dolomites to Sicily in an instant... you can, at Italia in Miniatura! You will find detailed miniatures of the principal Italian landmarks, but also other fun attractions, educational workshops and interesting events.
If you adore animals and creatures of the sea, at the Aquarium in Cattolica, the largest on the Adriatic Sea, you can learn all the secrets behind the aquatic world: over 100 tanks are on display with penguins, otters, chameleons and colourful clownfish. At the Oltremare Park in Riccione, you will find the famous Dolphin Lagoon, the animal shows of the Farm and IMAX, the huge 3D cinema. To learn while having fun, you can take your children to the Butterfly House in Milano Marittima, where these fascinating creatures are housed in a greenhouse together with carnivorous plants, exotic flowers and giant snails. It is also possible to visit the House of Insects and the botanic and nature trail.
Among the biggest parks, Mirabilandia is the most popular, featuring the most exciting attractions and activities: it is the largest park in Italy and is located in Savio, near Ravenna. It hosts attractions such as iSpeed, Discovery and Columbia, the inverted coaster Katun or Divertica, the highest water coaster in the world. There are also activities and games suitable for all ages, as well as acrobatic shows, evening shows and musicals. Another famous and not to be missed park is Aquafan, in Riccione. Water games, slides, swimming pool with waves... iconic attractions that will make you feel the thrill of their stunts, but also more relaxing and peaceful places, with rubber dinghy rides or sunbathing and refreshment areas scattered throughout the park.
